The Disappearance of Hope Curry

23 year old Hope Curry was last seen in Virginia Beach, Virginia on November 11, 2000. She disappeared after leaving her brother’s house to use a payphone at the Texaco station at Rosemont and Holland Roads.

Background

Hope attended Green Run High School. At the time of her disappearance, her 9 month old daughter was in foster care and she was in the process of trying to get custody back.

Disappearance

At approximately 9:30 pm on November 11, 2000, Hope Curry left her brother’s house in the 3600 block of Bancroft Drive in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She said she was headed out to use a payphone at a nearby Texaco station.

Hope was answering a page, and said she was going to invite a friend over for pizza at her brother’s new condo. Hope never returned to her brother’s house, and hasn’t been seen since.

Her loved ones say it’s uncharacteristic of her to leave without warning, and they do not think she would have left on her own since she was focused on getting her daughter back.

She was wearing a gold necklace with a gold “#1 MOM” pendant with a small sapphire embedded by the 1, a silver ring with a pink stone, a silver band on her pinkie, and a light up watch with a silver filigree band.
